New York diaries Part 1
After an early morning of scrambling round the airport, I finally boarded the colossal plane waiting to set off into the sky. Making myself cosy in my seat I plugged in my earphones and tried to keep busy. Not lucky enough to snag a window seat I had to try and catch glimpses of the crispy morning view. I tried to read the book I had brought along but I was too excited to focus. Instead I tried to plan everything I wanted to do and try when I landed. I munched on some snacks I brought and kept occupied by drawing on my ipad. After the 7 hours sat on the plane, I safely landed in the city that never sleeps. Except I was exhausted when I got to the hotel so I ended up sleeping and saving the exploring for the next day.
When I woke up I decided to grab a Starbucks and then head out into time square to explore New York and check out the best places to visit and eat lunch. I started at M and M world as it was closest to my hotel, comparing it to the M and M world in London it definitely felt a lot bigger but the M and M wall in NYC felt like it was larger. Who am I to decide what M and M store is bigger? Any who, I then ventured down to the other designer stores that can't be found back in my small town. I accumulated a lot of sweets (candy) then headed to the most magical store on earth. The Disney store, they had an escalator featuring lanterns from Tangled as well as a mini castle. I definitely revisited a huge part of my childhood that day. After a jam packed shopping day I called it quits. Heading to the Hard Rock Cafe to rest my sore feet while discovering some new songs, eating till I couldn’t anymore and taking in some sacred artefacts from the kings of rock and roll.
I resided in the hotel bar for some late night drinks. Still not being able to believe I was in the heart of NYC!
